Erik Hårdstedt works across various mediums, including drawing, collage, graphics, text, and music, but his true passion lies in watercolor. He’s drawn to the technical aspects of the medium—its structure, pigment qualities, and the unpredictable drying process. Watercolor offers a unique balance between precision and spontaneity, abstraction and figuration, and Erik thrives on the challenge of embracing its uncontrollable nature.
For Erik, the process is like tightrope walking—requiring complete focus and presence. It’s when he’s relaxed that his practice flows most freely, guiding him through the dreamlike, fleeting moments of creation.
"I’m comfortable working in the midst of social interactions and conversations—it’s where I find my rhythm."
